Italian Steak and Fine Dining @ Bistecca Tuscan Steakhouse

As a steak and fine dining lover, I’m constantly on the search for great steakhouses in Singapore that can deliver quality cuts of meat alongside an elegant dining ambience. This brings me to Bistecca Tuscan Steakhouse, an award-winning Italian restaurant tucked away on a quiet street in the heart of the CBD. Specializing in Tuscan-style chargrilled steaks and premium seafood, Bistecca brings the warmth of Italian hospitality to its contemporary setting. In this post I share my Bistecca Tuscan Steakhouse restaurant experience.

Stepping into the restaurant, I’m instantly impressed by the sleek and intimate interiors. Spotlights accentuate the grey stonewalls and wood accents, with white leather furniture and purple drapes giving an avant-garde edge. There is a main dining room flanked by private rooms, along with some counter seating overlooking the open kitchen. We had made a reservation and were promptly brought to our table after a warm welcome at the door.

As we settle into the black leather chairs, we take in the upscale yet relaxed ambience around us. Sophisticated jazz plays softly in the background as smartly dressed servers whisk by. The clientele seems to be mainly businessmen hosting lunches or dinners. The quiet chatter and laughter around us creates a cosy vibe. Our server introduces himself and hands us the leather-bound menus before taking our aperitif order.

The menu at Bistecca stays true to its name, putting Tuscan-style chargrilled steaks at the forefront. There is a wide variety of premium beef cuts to choose from like Angus ribeye, Australian wagyu sirloin and Japanese A5 wagyu striploin sourced globally. These can be paired with a choice of chimichurri, béarnaise or black peppercorn sauce. Beyond steaks, the menu also features Italian delicacies like Burrata, premium seafood like Boston lobster and mains such as slow-cooked lamb shank.

As we deliberate over the menu, we are served our pre-dinner drinks. I had selected their signature Bistecca Bellini cocktail with peach puree and prosecco for a sweet start while my companion opted for a Negroni. Our server returns to take our order after we had enough time to review the elaborate menu, answering some questions we had. I decided on the Angus ribeye, medium-rare, paired with truffle mash, snap peas and béarnaise sauce. My friend went with the Norwegian Halibut with pumpkin and sun-dried tomatoes alongside truffle fries.

It doesn’t take long for our starters to arrive looking spectacular. We had ordered a Burrata for the table, served with heirloom tomatoes and a balsamic reduction. The creaminess of the soft buffalo cheese perfectly complements the sweet tomatoes, balanced by the tangy glaze. We polish this off quickly while munching on the olive oil-doused foccacia bread.

Our mains swiftly make their way from kitchen to table. Two chargrilled slabs are placed before us, beautifully seared with tantalizing grill marks visible. The ribeye is cooked spot-on to medium rare doneness just as requested, tender and flush with juices. I cut through it effortlessly to reveal the rosy pink centre inside. Topped with crispy onion rings and a generous drizzle of creamy peppercorn sauce, it makes for a picture-perfect plate. One taste instantly tells me this steak is worth its premium price tag. Savoury, rich and melt-in-your-mouth tender, it almost tastes like butter! My friend seems equally pleased by his halibut, commenting that the smooth pumpkin puree complements the fish perfectly.

As avid steak fans, we savour every bite of our flawlessly cooked steaks paired with Italian red wine recommended by our server. The ambience around us recedes into the background as we enjoy our food. Before long, we finish our fine cuts of beef down to the last morsel with huge smiles on our faces. As our plates are cleared promptly, our server presents us the dessert menu. Although completely satiated, we order the tiramisu for the sake of trying a classic Italian sweet ending.

A silky and rich tiramisu soon lands in front of us, dusted with cocoa powder atop a vanilla sauce. We dig into the pillow-soft mascarpone, soaked savoiardi biscuit layers and strong espresso. Hints of marsala elevate the familiar dessert into something sublime. The bittersweet flavours dance on my palate as I polish my share. It’s clear only quality ingredients have been used to prepare this splendid Italian restaurant finale.

At the end of this indulgent dinner, I sit back completely enraptured by my experience at Bistecca. From the intimate elegant setting to the impeccable service, stellar wine recommendations and the pièce de résistance – the incredible chargrilled steak cooked to perfection – Bistecca delivers sophistication through and through. As a as steak lover who enjoys fine dining experiences, this has easily become a favourite steakhouse to satisfy my cravings. Though my wallet feels slightly lighter, I leave with my belly full and heart warmed by the hospitality. This is Italian steakhouse dining at its best. I hope this Italian Steak and Fine Dining @ Bistecca Tuscan Steakhouse helps you.
